Orcas Island

For midwinter break, I decided to stick around here instead of flying home to California. Early in the week I was able to have lunch with a dear friend, went to a beloved dentist appointment (yuck) and got to catch up on homework. On Wednesday, my teacher friend Angela and I headed to Orcas Island (one of the San Juan Islands) for three days. It was an adventure to say the least. We were able to stay at a timeshare place that her parents have, so we didn't have to pay for lodging, which was nice. Orcas Island definitely was an interesting place. There wasn't a lot to do on the island and the prices at restaurants there were a bit ridiculous. One of the highlights of the trip was having a private hot tub on our deck. It was purely amazing, especially as we sat there gazing at the millions of stars in the night sky. Very cool. We lucked out as far as the weather, it was clear and sunny every day we were there...simply beautiful! Here are some pictures from our fun trip:

Unit 118 was the place to be! :) It was a fun little cottage/room. We thought there was a kitchen but there was not which meant spending way too much money on eating out. All in all though, it was a fun place to stay!

The view of the beautiful sunset from our deck. It was absolutely gorgeous!

Approaching Orcas Island...we had fun on the ferry rides!

I love this picture! Mt. Baker was a sight to be seen on this clear, beautiful day. This picture only captures a glimpse of how truly beautiful it was!
